Disciples of Christ

Bible with Luke 4 18

Injustices

Prayer grown out of an imperative urgency, sometimes pointed, sometimes diffused. It enables one to keep fresh and focused in spirit the dedication to which one's life is given. Again and again, it creates a profound sense of power deep within the mind, expressing itself in strong new courage and purposefulness.

All night I lay across my bed --

No rest- no sleep;

N'ought but the utter agony

of despair.

I cried to God --

The answer: Bald, awful silence.

Along the walk outside my

window

A group of men ---

Students in a Southern school –

return

From breakfast.

Suddenly as if in answer

To my all night cry,

They wooed the silence into song:

I'm so glad trouble don't las' always,

0 my Lord, 0 my Lord, what shall I do?"

Dr. Howard Thurman; "Deep Is The Hunger"

The Disciple Women meet on the first Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m.  Share this time and bring a member with you for the fellowship and a time of sharing in the spirit!

Our next CWF / Disciple Women meeting will be held on February 6, 2016. Another wonderful Saturday. Come and see what is in store.

If you would like to bring a favorite dish to munch on you are welcomed to do so but it is not mandatory. Bring another sister. We have seats and positions to be filled. Think about what you could do in 2016 that you failed to do in 2015. I invite you to come and see.

Continue to pray for the sick among us.
