We are to be serious when we sing "God Bless America" because our country sure is in need of much blessing. Consider out two war fronts, our gas prices, our economics, and educational problems and you know we need help. The church can make a good difference in all areas of concern. Lets' be the active and assertive Disciples of Christ God wants us to be.
Rev. Titus H. James, Sr.

North Heights Christian Church Dedication June 22, 2008
The Griots Cultural Arts Storytelling
Institute was instrumental in obtaining a grant from the Fred and
Mary Koch Foundation to implement a Learning Center for inner-city
children at North Heights. The Griots mission for the project was to
provide inner-city children with an opportunity to gain the life long
gift of education. Founded on the belief that education is the key to
breaking the cycle of poverty and taking control of one's own life.
The Griots represents education, cultural enrichment, and entertainment for children and adults in the community.
Recently, Rev. Walter Walker dedicated the Learning Center and anointed every learning instrument in the Center.
Retired teacher, Ms Betty Washington will facilitate and manage the Learning center along with other volunteers. Please let her know if you would like to be a volunteer and help with this wonderful God sent opportunity to help with the education of a child.
After a very successful Vacation Bible School, there was a well attended "FINALE." Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks, along with games and good fellowship. It was family fellowship evening that was enjoyed by all.
On June 25th the Youth spent the afternoon at the Wichita Zoo. Needless to say a good time was had by all.
Everyone is looking forward to celebrating
